It's been 940 days since I've joined Xanga.

Who cares?

Life is better than before.

I think.

It's been over a year since I updated this.

In case you're wondering.

There was no 3rd Annual Rhodes Reunion Spelling Bee.

I was at home.

Getting ready for a play that evening.

Oh well.

I'm going to be a junior.

That's terrifying.

No one will read this.

Oh well.

Goodnight.

Well okay.

1) 2nd Annual Rhodes Reunion was a minor success.  Participation was up 20%.  Instead of last year's 20 rounds, we had a staggering...~*~Eight!!~*~   And the winner is...

My mom's aunt's oldest daughter: CHANTELLE!  With an impressive wordlist including brick, famish, tremble, wizardry, imbibe, discretion, retrospective, and her championship word starboard, Chantelle dominated the spelling bee with her sharp wit, quick intellect, and a pen and paper until the last two rounds where Jake stamped out any subversive techniques.

Props also go to Aunt Brenda, who made a fairly impressive showing, after winning the championship last year, she took the runner-up position after missing "quizzical."  Equal props to Amber...who I'm sure is indeed related to me, who tied for the runner-up position ater misspelling "tactician."

Also, congrats to the bell, which made its first appearance this year.  Thank you bell!

2) SCHEDULEOWNAGE!!!

Adv: Kalahar
1: Higher Algebra: Jordan
2: American Civics: Roman (score!)
3: Concert Choir: Larson
4: Spanish II: Schmidt (<_<)
5: Biology: Chaddatz
6: Adv English 10: Walker

Seems rather solid, and I did rather get the assortment of teachers I wanted, although Jordan...mmm...I dunno about that...might be some frixion there...Chaddatz and Roman are solid though.  Larson shouldn't be an issue.  Schmidt is Schmidt...sigh.  I wouldn't have wanted Strahl though.  Hey both of our Spanish teachers have German names.  Strahl should be /'s(h)trahl/ rather than just /'strahl/ though.  Auwevva.  I don't know who Walker is.  So...dunno.  Shouldn't be bad.

3) 15 days until SCHOOL.  Yeah that's right.  I'm excited.

Holy crap that's REALLY soon.  o-o.

The spelling bee approaches yet again...on August 12...the timeless American classic...

No, not the national spelling bee, but...

THE SECOND ANNUAL RHODES FAMILY REUNION SPELLING BEE!

With reigning champion Aunt Brenda returning, runner-up Dad Kurt wimping out and staying home, underdog Somehow-Related Annette (who if "symmetry" hadn't taken down, may have been the favorite to win) ready to avenge her painful loss, and newcomers like Cousin Alyssa in the field, anything can happen.  The wordlist ranges from "apple" to "quizzical," "moss" to "rhinogenic."  The family reunion will be once again graced with the dictating talents of the one Jake Devine.  Drama is sure to ensue.  Insue?  Hmm.  Schwadots.  Bleh.

A full report will be given.

...?

Driving is horrifying.  I think I've decided that I'd rather live through any single solitary other hour of my life than live through the hour I went through this morning, driving around town for Behind the Wheel.

Needless to say, it sucked, I'm a horrible driver, and I am a very stressed out kind of person.

Yay.  Only four days left of Behind the Wheel.  .

The Title

It's been a rather lazy summer so far.  I have done -so- little.  I've read a few books, done some half-hearted studying for Knowledge Bowl, and really...not much else.  It's very relaxing though.

My mom is going to pick up my grades tomorrow...I'm still really nervous about Phy Ed.

Risk is such an epic game.  The game started with four - my brothers, my older brother's friend, and me.  The older brother's friend fell after about six hours of play...now, four hours of play later, I have the chance to wrench control of the game.

It's so exciting.  Really.  I did make a critical error last turn, but I should be able to make up for it and get all my continents back and solid.  I think I can win...

So that's my summer...

(Btw I am O_O so excited about the Teen Tournament for Jeopardy.  This year has *got* to be the year I get picked to audition.  It's gotta gotta gotta.  The registrations should open really soon now...*crosses fingers*.  It's so RANDOM though gah!!)

Until next time - O_O!!
